📐 How it works
For sharp 4K we use a recommended diagonal of distance ÷ 1.6 (more relaxed) up to distance ÷ 1.2 (cinematic), with the distance first converted to inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm).
The other way round: the recommended 4K viewing distance is diagonal × 1.2 to × 1.6 (in inches). For 1080p you need more distance: at least diagonal × 1.5 to × 2.5, otherwise you'll see individual pixels.
💡 Because 4K has four times as many pixels as 1080p, you can sit closer without the image looking grainy — so a bigger TV is fine.
